The first prototype of our new VW Vanagon T3 stainless steel spare wheel carrier is in the works! Months of development and negotiations with various suppliers have passed, now we're finally on track! Together with TK-Carparts we will offer an upgraded and revised version of the popular spare wheel carrier starting this summer!
- The locking mechanism will be much tighter to prevent nasty sounds when rushing down those oh-my-whole-car-seems-to-break washboard torture "roads"
- The mounting system has been simplified to be able to adapt to various wheel offsets without having to purchase different expensive addons as has been the case in the past. The system can be adapted to mount the wheel face to carrier or face to road, so even the fanciest alloys will be safe and sound! Additionally, the universal mount will get a few more optional accessories to carry skis or a jerry can and alike - stay tuned!
- The hinges have been converted to stainless steel uniball joints, a step that will further reduce ratteling sounds and gives much finer tuning option to adjust the carrier to your specific vanagon.
We will offer the carriers coated in black powder, special orders for other colors could possibly be arranged for a small fee - talk to us! Since we will attend the syncro 30 years meeting at Berlin, Germany (14.-16.August 2015) and the Busfest at Malvern, UK (4.-6 September 2015) this year, we will hopefully offer free delivery to one of these events in case you want to save on shipping.
