Autoterm Flow 5B Petrol Water Heater
The Autoterm Flow 5B (formerly Binar 5s) Deluxe is the new water heater from the manufacturer Autoterm. It is an inexpensive alternative to the Eberspacher D5W(Z) or Hydronic 5, or the ThermoTop models from Webasto.
The scope of delivery includes 99% everything you need for the basic(*) installation.
Function as auxiliary heater
Due to the programmable temperature thresholds and the automatic mode, the heater can also be used in auxiliary heater mode. The cooling water temperature is also automatically kept high here while the engine is running, should it fall below a certain value. The value can be set between 75 and 95°C (standard: 85°C). Whether the electric pump runs in auxiliary heater mode or not can of course be programmed.
Standby mode
Allows the electric water pump to keep the water circulating while the heater actually turns off the burner when a temperature threshold that can be set from 20 to 95°C is exceeded. If other measures can be taken to ensure that the water in the system is circulated, the pump can also be switched off in standby mode.
switching output
At what water temperature does the switching output (currently still with an optional relay set!) for the vehicle fan (ventilation/heating system installed in the vehicle / air conditioning) can also be programmed. The switching thresholds are in the range of 30 to 60°C, by default it is pre-programmed at 40°C. (*)Caution: The vehicle fan is controlled by every vehicle manufacturer to implement differently and with the increasing complexity of modern vehicles, there may be a need for some personal initiative. We can only provide very limited support here, since it is of course impossible for us to delve so deeply into the vehicle technology of the various manufacturers.
Optional GSM modem
With a convenient mobile app, the heating can be remotely controlled for the optional GSM modem. Start parameters such as time and heating duration can be set here and the status of the heating can also be easily queried.
For professionals: This heater has an extra switching input on the cable harness so that you can connect your own remote control or other second control unit. All you have to do is connect two cables using a switch or relay. This happens either permanently, then the heating starts and runs until the connection is interrupted again, or with an impulse. A key pulse of 0.5-3s length can be used to switch on, the next pulse would then switch the heating off again. The advantage of the second variant is that you then have the option of controlling the heating with various control elements - for example, switch it on with a home-made remote control or a button. The switching input is also subject to the 120-minute runtime limit with the original heating software!
Installation Info
The angled water outlets can be rotated 180°. be rotated. If required, straight outlets can also be ordered instead of the angled water connections - depending on how the installation situation requires it.
Installation without TÜV approval
All Autoterm heaters have an E-mark (e2) and can therefore be installed without registration.
OLED Control Panel
The heating can be controlled by setting a fixed power level or by a temperature mode. A temperature sensor is directly integrated in the control panel. If the mounting location is not suitable for temperature measurement (inside a cupboard or too far away from the seating/lounge area), a separately available external sensor with a 5 m cable length can be used (article number 16522). Attention: Menu navigation on this control panel is only in English and Russian. However, the operating instructions are also available in German.

Attention: A fuel hose is included as a line connector. The included length is usually completely sufficient when shortened to suitable pieces. If, contrary to expectations, you can't get by with it, you can reorder the hose by the meter under Article number 35612.< /p>
