Autoterm Flow 5D diesel water heater

The Autoterm Flow 5D (formerly Binar 5s) Deluxe is the new water heater from the manufacturer Autoterm (or Advers). It is a low-cost alternative to the Eberspächer D5W(Z) or Hydronic 5, or the ThermoTop models from Webasto. The scope of delivery already includes 99% of everything you need for basic installation.

Control element

Comfort Control: The new, improved control element for the Autoterm / Planar auxiliary heater. With three freely adjustable timers for any day of the week, extended heating modes (including thermostat mode), voltage monitoring and much more. Multifunctional rotary wheel with a pleasant, non-slip rubber coating and OLED display. Smaller installation dimensions, more comfortable use, more stylish design.

NEW OPTION: Control the heating from two different locations: With Push Control the heating can be operated using a second, compact switch button. You can order it as an option and thus conveniently control the heating from the driver's seat or from the bed, for example (works in conjunction with the Comfort Control Panel).

auxiliary heating mode

The heating can also be used in auxiliary heating mode thanks to the programmable temperature thresholds and the automatic mode. Here, the cooling water temperature is automatically kept high even when the engine is running if it falls below a certain value. The value can be set between 75 and 95°C (standard: 85°C). Whether the electric pump runs in auxiliary heating mode or not can of course be programmed.

The so-calledstandby mode allows the water to continue to circulate through the electric water pump while the heater actually switches off the burner when a temperature threshold adjustable from 20 to 95°C is exceeded. If other measures can be taken to ensure that the water in the system is circulated, the pump can also be deactivated in standby mode.

The water temperature at which theswitching output (currently still with an optional relay set!)for the vehicle fan (ventilation/heating/air conditioning system installed in the vehicle) is controlled can also be programmed. The switching thresholds are in the range of 30 to 60°C, and are pre-programmed at 40°C as standard. ^(*)Please note: The control of the vehicle fan is implemented differently by each vehicle manufacturer and, as modern vehicles become more complex, may require a certain amount of initiative. We can only provide very limited support here, as it is of course impossible for us to delve so deeply into the vehicle technology of the various manufacturers.

The heater can be remotely controlled using a convenient mobile phone app for the optional GSM modem. Start parameters such as time and heating duration can be set here, and the status of the heater can also be easily queried.

For professionals: This heater has an extra switching input on the wiring harness, so that you can connect your own remote control or other second control unit. All you have to do is connect two cables using a switch or relay. This happens either permanently, then the heater starts and runs until the connection is interrupted again, or with a pulse. A key pulse of 0.5-3s length can be used to switch on, the next pulse would then switch the heating off again. The advantage of the second variant is that you then also have the option of controlling the heating with different control elements - for example, switching it on with a self-made remote control or a button. The switching input is also subject to the 120-minute runtime limit with the original heating software!

Info: The angled water outlets can be rotated by 180°. If required, straight outlets can also be ordered instead of the angled water connections - depending on what the installation situation requires.

All Autoterm heaters have an E-mark (e2) and can therefore be installed without registration.
