Description

Lockable Gas and Water Can Mount

The lockable version of Overland Fuel's fuel and water can mounting kits makes your outside mounted cans theft-proof. An anti-drill lock even prevents forced removal.

The lockable mount with double handle for best grip is made of hardened, carefully CNC-milled aluminum.


Assembly

The mount can be attached in two ways:

1. Using the supplied back mounting plate: Fasten the mount to the back mounting plate with the screws provided and then fasten the mounting plate to the desired surface with the additional screws.

2. Fasten the mount directly to the selected surface using the screws provided (please note the material properties and stability, especially with this variant!)

Note

Please note that our locks are of high quality. Like all metal parts, however, they also need some care from time to time to ensure proper function - particularly due to weather influences, different temperatures and unavoidable soiling when mounted outside on one vehicle.

Our graphite spray is recommended for the care of this and other metal locks.

Habe vier abschließbare Halterungen und Kanister gekauft.
Bei einem Schloss löst sich das Chrom noch vor der Installation. Feedback wird vom Hersteller Overlandfuel wie folgt beantwortet: It is normal with time that the chrome will get affected with use and conditions. Mit with time ist vmtl. die Zeitspanne zwischen Lager Holland - Tigerexped - Kunde gemeint. affected by use and condition bedeutet bei Raumtemperatur einmalig den Schlüssel in das Schloß gesteckt, geöffnet und das Schloß herausgezogen - Supportanfrage ist derzeit bei Overlandfuel noch in Barbeitung, reagieren schnell und freundlich und vlt. erhalte ich kostenlosen Ersatz.

Bei den Montageplatten sind die als Verdrehschutz gedachten Vierkantlöcher teilweise unwirksam, da größer als der Vierkantansatz an den Schlosschrauben. Problem ist beim Hersteller bekannt und ist in der nächsten Serie korrigiert.

Wenn man vier Halterungen kauft, bekommt man vier unterschiedliche Schlüssel. Gleiche kann man direkt beim Hersteller käuflich erwerben und sich die ersetzten ins Handschuhfach legen.

Noch etwas in eigener Meinung. Man kann mit etwas Kraftaufwand (bin kein Pumper!) den verschlossenen Riegel im Kunststoffkanister um 90° drehen und den Kanister abnehmen. Beschädigt diesen zwar minimal, ist aber möglich. Schloss dient meiner Meinung nach eher der Abschreckung (wenn Aufpreis Abschreckung < Kosten für neuen Kanister, weil geklaut, geht die Rechnung für mich auf).
Warum ich das gemacht habe? Weil das o.g. Chrom-Problem dazu geführt hat, dass ich das verriegelte Schloß nicht mehr aus dem schwarzen Knebel bekomme und ich die Befestigungsmuttern der Halterung nicht mehr öffnen konnte, weil die Vierkantschrauben sich mitgedreht haben.
