VOTRONIC StandBy Charger Pro - recharging the starter battery
Many common used chargers, such as mains chargers, solar charge controllers and combination chargers, do not have a secondary charging output that provides the starter battery with a defined trickle charge provided. The VOTRONIC StandBy Charger can help here.
Easy retrofitting, without changing the wiring
The VOTRONIC StandBy Charger enables automatic recharging and charge maintenance of the starter battery or additional battery if the mains charger, solar charge controller or generator only has one charging output. Installation is effortless by simply putting it between the on-board and starter batterie or on-board and additional batteries, without having to change the existing wiring.
Intelligent charging - protection against overcharging
The Votronic StandBy Charger charges automatically. For example, if the mains charger is in operation and charging the on-board battery, depending on the charging status, the second battery (starting battery or additional battery) is also charged with a small part of the charging current. This can be recognized by an increased voltage level in the second battery. However, overcharging this is impossible because the charging voltage is reduced by at least 0.6V and the charging current is limited to 3A (24V variant: 2A).
"Pro" for LiFePo 4 batteries
LiFePO4 batteries can be completely drained by normal standby chargers due to their much higher resting voltage. Please be sure to use this Pro-Variant of the StandBy-Charger in combination with a LiFePO-4 battery - it has an adjustable undervoltage limit at the input. The charge is interrupted if this voltage falls below, which enables safe use with modern LiFeP0-4 batteries without draining them.
