Description
Even though we are not known to be fans of underfloor installations, we do realise that in some cases there is no other option. Since our heaters are not suitable for submarines, they must be protected from all environmental influences. This two-part stainless steel box is intended to help those who absolutely cannot avoid underfloor installation.

It represents the smallest possible volume for convenient installation of the heater. With the cover removed, the warm air connections are freely accessible and in the event of damage, almost any problem can be solved from above without removing the heater. The cable is led out through a cable grommet directly towards the warm air side. The box can be combined with the 90° holder (item TEX1705), so that you first screw the holder onto the car and then the box and heater. This can be useful in some cases, in others the box can be mounted directly.

A few words about underfloor installation

Sucking in cabin air from outside is NOT recommended. Not only is this potentially very dangerous, as you can never be sure what you are sucking in (be it your own exhaust, the exhaust from the person next to you, or that of a car or generator - the wind never stands still and can COMPLETELY change the situation 30 minutes after you go to sleep), it can also mean the rapid death of the heater if spray mist from the street or something similar is sucked in. As already mentioned, even a protective box cannot turn a heater into a submarine. There is absolutely no guarantee for damage caused by moisture and it is very easy to detect.

What is important with this type of installation is firstly a sensible place for the heater (make sure it is installed in the correct position!) and secondly - usually a much bigger problem - the flow-wise routing of supply air and warm air from/into the living space. Ideally this should NOT be done simply just in front of and behind the heater with two 90° angles, otherwise the flow resistance is extremely high and you immediately lose half the performance. The heaters themselves detect insufficient air throughput and reduce performance. Ideally, the heater will run, but with reduced power and will therefore be guaranteed to get sooted very quickly - without the possibility of full load, the combustion chamber will not burn clean! If the overheating protection is turned down, you can tell by the heater running "unevenly", i.e. the speed does not remain constant even when the power level is set to a fixed level, but the heater turns down, then up again, then down again... you can hear it very clearly. So please: put a LOT of effort into sensible air flow, anything else is rubbish. And precisely because it can be so much effort, there are not many underfloor installations that are really feasible.

If you have solved all of these problems, you will be well served with our box. Anyone who is now in doubt should think again about one of our installation flanges (items TEX1632 and TEX1633) and the installation in the interior.

Tolle Kiste, super verarbeitet. Befestigung Unterflur etwas knifflig
