Replacing the parking heater in the VW T4
With this installation kit an original Eberspächer D3L* can be replaced by an Autoterm 2D (former Planar 2D). We deliver a completely new heater holder made of stainless steel, which is screwed directly to the original position and also holds the air duct and the pump etc. - just like original.
In addition, we supply our TEXBOX2, a stainless steel installation box, which fits directly under the car in combination with the holder and thus makes protected installation of the heater possible. For the connection of supply and warm air, we supply adapters, warm air pipe and (where necessary) matching stainless steel clamps. Our kit therefore adapts to the original VW ducts, if these are not available, this is not the right kit. Then it has to be built individually.
Of course a complete Autoterm Air 2D is part of this package. (for item specifications, dimensions, scope of delivery etc. please have a look at the item descriptions of the Autoterm Air 2D)
Control Panel
You can choose between OLED Control (former PU-27) and Comfort Control Panel.
Things you have to solve yourself
Cable routing into the interior, connecting the original exhaust pipe if necessary or simply using the supplied Autoterm components. The fuel pump is simply replaced and refitted in its original Position.
Here is the illustrated installation documentation incl. Youtube series for this product!
Attention: It is NOT possible to continue using any original control element. The wiring harness of the new heater must be used completely, at the most one could argue about the supply voltage via already existing cables....?
?*) This installation kit only works with the air duct of the D3L. ?If no heater or a D2L was previously installed, which unfortunately is not identical in construction to the D3L and has a different airflow, our kit unfortunately does not work. The change from the D2L (metal box with air inlet and outlet on the same side) to the D3L with (air inlets and outlets on opposite sides, similar to the Autoterm Air) was around 1995.
At this point, a big thank you to _vanmonkey_, who installed and removed our kit about 17 times to develop this complete set ;)
